  • An oak and mahogany 30hour longcase clock c1850 with a swans neck pediment, carved wooden patera and radiating carved boss, glazed break arch hood door flanked by two ring turned pillars, with a mahogany veneered trunk, stopped reeded corner pillars and a short wavy toped door in contrasting oak, trunk on a square plinth with a recessed panel and shaped feet, 13” break arch painted dial with Roman numerals, minute track and stamped brass “crown” hands within a gold border, matching painted cornflowers to the spandrels, break arch with a rural scene representing a farmer watering his horse, dial inscribed “Thwaites, Barnard Castle”, with a 30hr chain driven countwheel movement sounding the hours on a cast bell.
