A late 18th century oak cased longcase clock c1790, hood with a caddy top and later 19th century applied carving and finials, glazed break arch hood door with integral reeded side pillars, long fully carved trunk door with tooling and a brass escutcheon, on a square plinth with conforming carving and applied skirting, brass break arch dial with matching steel hands and an engraved centre, engraved date and seconds dials, rococo spandrels to both the dial corners and break arch, formerly silvered chapter ring engraved with Roman numerals, minute track and Arabic five minutes, circular break arch boss engraved “Samuel North, Leconfield” (Yorks), with an eight-day weight driven rack striking movement, striking the hours on a bell.
