Description: An imposing French spelter clock garniture displaying the patriotic feats of a team of French firefighters c1910, with an eight-day timepiece movement, white enamel dial with upright Arabic numerals and minute markers, Fleur di lis steel hands, flat bevelled glass within a cast brass bezel and egg and dart slip, movement housed within a stylised flaming building, surmounted by a fireman rescuing a colleague, engraved inscription on a brass plaque to a circular ebonised base "Victime du Devoir Parx Raphanel", with two conforming figures, one of a fireman ascending a staircase, inscribed "Au Feu", the other representing a colleague on a roof carrying a young child, inscribed "Sauvee". Clock 78cm high, Figures 60cm high, with pendulum & key.
