Large and impressive late 19th century Irish mahogany secretaire bookcase, moulded sloped arch dentil pediment decorated with central carved mask surrounded by linen festoons and trailing bellflowers, canted and fluted uprights with carved acanthus leaf upper and lower brackets, enclosed by two astragal glazed doors in the form of trophies with twist ribbon carved mouldings, inlaid with fanned spandrels and trailing leaf painted satinwood band, cylinder roll top inlaid with central fan motif and fanned spandrels, pull-out action revealing stepped fitted interior, central tambour roll cupboard flanked by two Composite pilasters and a combination of drawers and pigeon holes, fitted with three break-front drawers, matched canted and fluted corners with acanthus leaf carvings, on square tapering and fluted spade feet
