Haatje Pieters Oosterhuis (Dutch 1784-1854): Original Designs for Book Illustrations, set twenty four watercolours each signed, some dated 1825, 12.5cm x 7.8cm (24) Notes: illustrations depicting primarily medieval war scenes and Roman Centurions with jungle, war and travel scenes; one frontispiece references 'La Fontaine Florian and another depicting a naval battle. Many of Oosterhuis' illustrations were created for kinderboeken (children's books), and his works can be found in Dutch museums such as the Rijks.
