The Furniture, Clocks & Interiors sale on the 8th October has attracted another interesting mix of antique and modern furniture, mantle clocks, barometers & longcase clocks, rugs, interiors, garden & architectural items. The 284 lots include some statement pieces of furniture, including a Robert ''''Mouseman'''' Thompson of Kilburn Yorkshire oak coffee table estimated to make £800 - £1,200, a Queen Anne style walnut serpentine chest on stand (estimate £600 - £1,000) and a Late 19th century figured walnut Bonheur de jour (estimate £400 - £600). An interesting addition for any outside space is the York stone totem, which is carved with masks, alphabets in gothic serif font, gothic arches and a Celtic spiral design. It was most likely made as an advertisement to show of the skill of a Stonemason or an apprentice.

A D Mougin was a prolific French clockmaker working in the mid to late nineteenth century, manufacturing clock movements in the Montbeliard region of France, also listed as having premises on the Rue de Turenne in Paris, Mougin won two gold medals for his clocks at the Paris exhibitions of 1867 and 1879 which he used as the basis for his trademark which contain the ‘Deux Medaille’s’ . Benetfink & Co. were a large retail business located at 89-90 Cheapside, London, from c1845 to 1907
