The Furniture, Clocks & Interiors sale attracts a mix of antique to modern furniture, mantle clocks, longcase clocks, barometers, rugs, mirrors and more. On 8th July, a number of statement pieces go up for auction: including a lazy Susan topped circular rosewood dining table with eight chairs (lot 7201), a Gnomeman adzed oak dresser (lot 7051) - part of a selection of Yorkshire Oak in the catalogue, a Victorian walnut credenza (lot 7061) and an early 20th century boudoir grand piano with a burr walnut veneered case and open fretwork music desk (lot 7093).

An imposing group of patinated spelter figures on round ebonised bases titled “Cod Fishing” “Distress” and “Rescue” the base of the central figure fitted with a continental (German?) spring driven movement striking the hours on a bell, two-part dial with a gilt centre and ivorine chapter, Arabic numerals, minute markers and steel spade hands within a glazed brass bezel, with pendulum. Height of figures 77cm and 56cm. Noble and striking groups of figures such as these were very popular for a short period in the early 20th century up until the 1st World War, invariably depicting the hazardous life of mariners, costal fishermen or other workers involved in hazardous occupations.
