Notes: illustrations depicting primarily medieval war scenes and Roman Centurions with jungle, war and travel scenes; one frontispiece references 'La Fontaine Florian and another depicting a naval battle. Many of Oosterhuis' illustrations were created for kinderboeken (children's books), and his works can be found in Dutch museums such as the Rijks.
