An oak and mahogany 30hour longcase clock c1850 with a swans neck pediment, carved wooden patera and radiating carved boss, glazed break arch hood door flanked by two ring turned pillars, with a mahogany veneered trunk, stopped reeded corner pillars and a short wavy toped door in contrasting oak, trunk on a square plinth with a recessed panel and shaped feet, 13” break arch painted dial with Roman numerals, minute track and stamped brass “crown” hands within a gold border, matching painted cornflowers to the spandrels, break arch with a rural scene representing a farmer watering his horse, dial inscribed “Thwaites, Barnard Castle”, with a 30hr chain driven countwheel movement sounding the hours on a cast bell. A Gustav Becker (German) late 19th century single weight driven Vienna regulator in a mahogany and ebonised case with a carved decorative pediment and finials, full length arched door and glazed side panels, with a white two piece 7.5” enamel dial, Roman numerals, minute track and subsidiary seconds dial, with pierced steel Viennese hands, dial inscribed “W.T. Braham, Stretford Road", full length pendulum with a wooden rod and brass bob, with beat plate, brass cased weight, pulley and key. William T. Braham was a watchmaker and Jeweller working from 392 Stretford Road, Manchester c1870. As well as being a jeweller he was a keen follower of Spiritualism and manufactured and sold several spiritual communication devices from his premises in Manchester. Spiritualism , the belief of communication with the dead, was a highly popular belief and practised widely for a period in late Victorian and early Edwardian England and America.

A late 18th century 30-hour oak and mahogany longcase clock retailed by Henry Fisher, Preston, c1790, with a flat topped pediment and moulded cornice, square hood door flanked by two plain pillars with brass capitals, trunk with recessed quarter columns, three-quarter length trunk door with an ogee twin spire top and crossbanding, rectangular plinth with canted corners and a narrow applied moulding to the base, circular 13” painted dial with Roman numerals, minute markers and five minute Arabic's, floral decoration to the centre and a semi-circular calendar aperture with date disc behind, original steel serpentine hands, dial inscribed “H Fisher, Preston”, dial pinned directly to a weight driven countwheel striking movement, striking the hours on a cast bell.
